Outdoor Recommendations

Threads used for manufacturing outdoor goods such as sails, tents, boat covers, awnings, flags, tarpaulins etc. need to fulfil the following special requirements:

• Resistance to sunlight and UV radiation
• Resistance to severe abrasion: typically, the fabrics used for outdoor goods are heavy and are also frequently treated to have special characterisitics like waterproofing and mildew resistance. Sewing through multiple layers of such fabrics results in severe abrasion of the thread
• Rot-proof and colour-fast when exposed to external elements like acid rain, chlorinated water, sea water etc.
