So, we’ve introduced a number of initiatives, through our reduction in energy consumption and CO2 emissions, in our packaging materials, in our increased use of biodegradable products and in support of the use of sustainable resources.
Since 2000, we've reduced our energy consumption by 884 million kWH. That translates to a 1.5 million tonnes reduction in our CO2 emmissions. Coats now uses about 793 KWH of energy a year, a massive 47% reduction since 2000.
We’ve saved enough energy to power about 200 000 households for a year. Which might be seen by some as helpful
We’ve saved the same carbon emissions as that generated by a family of four flying return from London to Miami a cool, 97 000 times.*
Which isn't too shabby, is it?
But we do realise that it’s an ongoing shift in working practice. And with that in mind, we’ll continue to go green in our day to day business, so that we can all enjoy looking towards a cleaner future, today.
